Each domain name gets translated, through DNS, to an actual numeric address (called an IP address). You lease your domain name or an annual basis. Q. What does FTP stand for and what does it do?A. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. FTP software allows the transfer of one or more files from one computer to another across the Internet. Most people use FTP to upload the files for their website to their hosting space. Q. What is Webmail?A. Webmail provides you with an interface on the Internet so that you can access your email messages from any computer. Webmail is included free with every hosting package. To access your Webmail, go to http://webmail.yourdomain.com using your Internet browser. Q. What is Disk Space?A. Disk Space is the total physical amount of hard drive space allocated to your hosting account. Q. What is Bandwidth?A. Bandwidth is a measurement of traffic that your website and email accounts receive. If you upload a 100 MB video file to your server and somebody then views that video from your website, the combination of those two events equate to 200 MB of bandwidth used.
